Van Gogh Up CLose Philadelphia Museum 3/30/2012

There were many Van Goghs that this experienced museum-goer had never seen.   Imagine, this was just part of his output from 1886 to 1890!  Works were lent from all over the world.  The show did not come to New York, so this Day Trip was the only way to see it, short of going to Ottawa Canada.  

The show and the catalogue were a stunning revelation to everyone.  We particularly enjoyed seeing those canvases where Van Gogh was obviously influenced by other painters like Monet and Gauguin.
